Praised by The Indianapolis Star for his "poetic expressiveness," harpist EMMANUEL CEYSSON makes his New York concerto debut this season in Young Concert Artists’ Gala Irene Diamond Concert, performing Debussy’s Danses Sacrée et Profane and Pierné’s Concertstück with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s and conductor Giancarlo Guerrero at Lincoln Center.  He also returns to the Cartagena Festival Internacional de Música in Colombia, and gives recitals and educational residencies in the U.S. at the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts in Virginia, North Orange County Community Concerts Association in California, Macomb Center for the Performing Arts in Michigan and Emporia Arts Council in Kansas.

Mr. Ceysson won the 2006 Young Concert Artists International Auditions and in November of 2006 gave his debut recitals in New York at Carnegie’s Zankel Hall, sponsored by the Peter P. Marino Prize, and in Washington, DC at the Kennedy Center, sponsored by the Alexander Kasza-Kasser Prize.  At the Auditions, he was also awarded the Alice Rosner Foundation Prize, the Victor Salvi Foundation Prize, the Summis Auspiciis Prize, and the Orchestra New England Soloist Prize.

The Gold Medal recipient at the 2004 USA International Harp Competition in Bloomington, Indiana, he was also awarded the Special Prize for the Best Performance of Debussy's Danses Sacrée et Profane.

In November 2005, Mr. Ceysson made his debut at Wigmore Hall in London as part of a tour of the United Kingdom, which also included a live performance on the BBC Radio 3 program "In Tune."  That same year, Mr. Ceysson made his Paris recital debut at the Salle Gaveau, accompanied by violist Karine Lethiec and flutist Jean Ferrandis, and his Chicago debut at Lyon & Healy Hall in November 2006, sponsored by the Victor Salvi Foundation.  He has appeared in recital and at festivals throughout Europe, including the World Harp Congress in Geneva (2002), the Journées de la Harpe in Arles (2000, 2002 and 2003), and the 6th European Harp Symposium in Lyon (2004).  He has performed as soloist with l'Orchestre de Basse-Normandie and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.  He frequently performs with l'Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, and serves as Principal Harp of the Paris Opera Orchestra.

Emmanuel Ceysson was born in 1984 in Oulins, France.  He attended the Conservatoire National de Région de Lyon, where he studied harp with Jacqueline Defoulounoux and Christophe Truant, trombone with Yvelise Girard, harmony with Denis Magnon, and chamber music with Joel Nicod.  Also an accomplished transcriber and arranger, he received the prestigious "Premier Prix" of Harmony from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris (CNSMDP).  He received a Diplome de Formation Supérieure (First Prize in Harp) from the CNSMDP, where he studied with Isabelle Moretti, in 2005.

His debut CD, Divertissements à la française, was released in 2005 on Egan Records.
